We have sent out the official Bullseye Press Release today, up until now we have only had our newsletter and our Gametrailers exclusive, which have been great!

In the newsletter we have added our new strategy cake description, hoping people get what we are trying to do... But, what do you guys think. DO you get it? :)

About our AAA Indie Strategy (or how to make the best cake in the world)

Try to picture first person shooters as cakes:

  1. A cake has layers and each layer has to taste really good in order to make a great cake.
  2. Each layer has a number of ingredients, which can vary a lot depending on how you want that particular layer to taste like.
  3. We have a pretty good idea of which ingredients to put in each layer, but we would like to hear what our community think.
  4. We are inviting our community to taste slices of each layer and help us balance the ingredients.
  5. When all layers are tasting really good and we have added frosting and candles... well... then hopefully we'll have the best cake in the world!

As far as the strategy cake description goes:

Simple, fun and lighthearted, but it also highlights your deep understanding of FPS's...FPS's can be these big cinematic experiences with set piece moments and several other gimmicks and sometimes they're fun, but at their core, FPS's are composed of primarily immersion, AI and other factors such as level design, fun factor that are standard in many other genres. Showing that you understand the basis of all first person shooters conveys what you're trying to do with Interstellar Marines. It's not trying to be this new first person shooter with really cool features that no one has ever seen before, it's trying to expand on what is already there, innovating where it has to but mostly improving the core traits of FPS's to make something that is feels like it has been done before, but ALSO feels COMPLETELY fresh and new.

It doesn't contain elements of fanboyism or bias either and it emphasises your love for games as well.

As far as AAA Indie itself, I think we all get it. ^^

One of the ingredients seems to be sharks with legs, how does that go along with strawberry creme?

Sounds like you could've had a future in the cake industry. Let's just make sure everybody knows this particular cake isn't a lie!

That would require a context switch.

After much thought I have a temporary solution: DON'T ninja double click! =)

Okay, I'll do the advocacy.

So, it's not a bug, it's a feature which lets you:

  • emphasize your post quickly by duplicating it, thus doubling its perceived importance
  • show off your ninja skills, telling everybody you do AfterKill in Bullseye

Not convinced? Well, after all, this is a browser issue. If a browser is too slow to process the button event, it's not the developer's fault.

Also, the first person to successfully triple-post will be rewarded with a huge trout slap.

-

How was that?
I've just been at a random Microsoft talk for students, I feel empowered with new skills.

That sounds like you are daring someone to try triple posting.

Well probably there is a lot of gamers that are aware that this game is being developed. But I just wanted to ask my fellow gamers if they could spread the word a bit more you know llike opening a new thread about the game on forums or send a post about this to your favorite magazines web site just in case so they could reach more gamers and maybe more support.

Thank you

Future Software Engineer

Regarding the very first post... here's my post on my FPS Anti Cheat Community forum: Interstellar Marines

Hope it helps. I discovered your project through the Unity Showcase forum and will help to promote this project in any way I can as it is stellar in all ways. The demo BullsEye is most excellent as is the character animations, etc... Push onward!
