Committing to our AAA Indie strategy means we're trying, among alot of other cool things, to get all of you involved in the game development process. We want to share our progress and insights that we gain along the way.

We consider ourselves as being the flag carriers in this new AAA Indie strategy and we would really appreciate to get your thoughts of this subject. Is there something you would like us to to do? Do you, as we do, see this as being the future for game development? Do you have suggestions of reaching our community? Fire away! :)

It would be nice if we could connect with other fellow marines by being able to view their profiles or what have you. The forum is a nice step towards that but let's say I want to talk to the previous poster weirdoo over aol instant messenger or make a steam community group (wink wink nudge nudge) for IM with him.

I only know weirdoo is from norway because s/he said so in the "Where are you from?" thread. Keep up the good work guys! I'll post again if anything comes to mind.

For the love of the game,

Aebonka

To be honest I'm quite afraid of the concept of AAA Indie, or rather the future of it and copycats. I have no doubts you guys are genuine and are really doing this for a good purpose, but it won't take long before other less serious indie developers notice this strategy and think easy monies lulz and try the same thing, which will give this kind of opportunity a bad reputation because of idiots who can't live up to their promises and scammers.

I sure hope my fears won't come true but I've seen similar things happen already and it wouldn't surprise me.

Keep up the good work ZPS, I think this is going to turn out awesome.

MAKE THE GAME AVALIABLE ON STEAM :D!!!!

Seriously, Steam is the most efficient way to distribute the game.

I for one only buy games from STEAM :D , unless iam in Thailand or somethng, where the retailer PC games are cheap.

I do like buying games on Steam, whenever they have offers running, but apart from that their whole €1 = $1 policy for the Europeans is complete bulls***.

Love the AAA Indie idea! I would be worried about what Denny stated above as well, with other scamming ripoff companies, but I also think that would be pretty hard to pull off to any profitable level. I mean, the people following Indie gaming will probably for the most part, be able to tell a fraud from a valid developer. Also, It would be cool if someone got a site up for AAA Indie eventually that could host ideas and other people's games/links to their games and whatnot!

TAX!!!

Congratulations on a potentially great idea and I really hope you manage to pull this off! Also hats off to all the people that have upgraded their accounts. I was just about to upgrade to Spearhead when suddenly the price went from 39.00 to 48.75! I hate the fact that you have put tax on this, now this may well be out of your hands but you should include any tax in the price. This way feels underhanded as has put me off upgrading for now, I may change my mind but for now I'll wait.

I think it would also be a good idea to have a counter to indicate the number of signed up marines, if there is a max of 75,000 it would be worth knowing the head count.

Thats the EU on a nail right there and the reason why I personally always feel fucked when buying games on Steam or D2D etc., they track my IP and add Danish VAT (which is insanely high) on top! :(

We are FORCED to add VAT to all countries within the EU and everywhere else it is VAT free. Crazy Insane!

When we get enough Spearheads we will build a space station in VAT FREE orbit and have all digital products be VAT FREE or maybe sell the games cheaper to EU citizens... Why because this is AAA Indie and we answer to no one but our community! :)

Is kind of difficult to include taxes in the price, since taxes are different in each EU country. And quit winning about taxes, we pay 25% in denmark :O :P

Personally every time I see "Danish VAT" I think of the Vats in Fallout that created evil mutants bent on humanities' annihilation. I really should get out more.

I for one favor this, like how steam games get special discounts in areas like thailand and russia (although admittedly for a different reason than taxes).

Does that mean you think ZPS is run by super mutants? :)
