Dear Community,

We are very proud to present Running Man Public Release to you!

Please post all of your feedback regarding your Running Man experience here.

If you are posting technical errors, please list your operating system, and browser. (Hardware listing would also help)

Thanks for your support. Interstellar Marines would not be the same without you!

List of known issues:

  • Occasionally the bots won't take impact in the chest region. Restarting the mission should fix this.
  • Sometimes a black rendering artifact centered around the helmet visor will show up on higher quality settings (Example photo - thanks Krudanze)

I got pretty bad motion sickness while playing the demo, which is a first for me. i think it's due to the extreme camera wobble.

Also, it performed really poorly on my Macbook Pro (2.66 Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Ram, OSX Leopard, Safari 5.0) - using my 24" Display with 1920x1200 resolution and best setting i only got a measly 6 fps out of it.

So i had to play on 1024x800 with medium details for fps in the 40s. The game honestly doesn't look like it should demand that much processing power, but maybe it's just bad driver suppord on apples side - other games sure taught me my Mac is not the ideal gaming rig.

These are pretty bad technical problems for me. i hope i still can enjoy the final product.

I really enjoyed all the added polish in this release. I could go on and on about the plus points but I'll avoid that and just list a couple of quick issues to be addressed.

The chest hits not always registering like you have already noted.
Some of the voice acting is repeated by the same trigger on days 2 and 3.

Other than that I think it's doing absolutely great and looking forward to the next snippet preview!

As nobody else has noticed this I think it's probably to do with the low frame rate you have there. I don't think your specs look that poor in all honesty, at least for a laptop anyway, so perhaps it's a driver issue for your GPU?

I really enjoyed Running Man. By day 3, I was running scared for my life. It was insane how I had to jump up on top of crates to reach checkpoints, all the while keeping robots off my back. Though it was tough, I was able to beat it no problem with a strong will to survive.

So i had to play on 1024x800 with medium details for fps in the 40s.

Turn the screensize down to 800x600 and the settings to fastest.
That gives me a somewhat steady 12 fps, so you should get 60+ I guess, and that shouldn't make you sick in any way.

I'm getting fairly miserable performance out of the Final build that I was not seeing under the Running Man Alpha nor under Bullseye.

Windows 7 x64 8gb DDR3 1066mhz GeForce GT 240 Sonic Edition 1gb DDR5 Overclocked C2D @ 3.06ghz 32gb PS-100 SSD

All drivers, Unity, etc, up to date.

Thanks for reporting this Saijin_Naib!

I'm curious to know what exactly entails a "fairly miserable performance". Could I pursuade you to post some average FPS times from various levels and also at different quality settings/screen resolutions? Just to get a feel for what's up.

Short performance/quality settings explanation: We've turned up the "juice"-factor knob since the Alpha release, which in itself means less performance on the same quality settings comparatively speaking.

We made an effort to tweak the "Quality Settings" (in menu) to allow both super-highend as well as mid-range computers to run the game with acceptable framerates and with as much "juice" on as possible. This means the higher quality settings are now (comparatively to alpha builds) more performance intensive. However the lower quality settings is a lot less. My guess is that the current "Beautiful" setting roughly equates to the old "Fantastic" setting, performance wise (but it looks much much better)

Overall this build should in theory be playable on a wider range of hardware, this is also why I'm interested in hearing what is up with your case - your specs certainly are well within the playable range :)

I used to run Fantastic @ 1280x1024 with no issue ever, now to maintain playable framerates (60+ Solid) I need to be on Fastest or maybe Basic.
Juice is one thing guys, but I want HIGH, consistent frame-rates. Please don't turn this into another Shattered Horizon (a game that inexplicably poor and plain considering how miserably it runs no matter the power of the rig).

Also, noticed at least one spot with a missing texture :P Image

And, if you are up on a crate or something, the robots can still hit you but they don't look at you.

Perhaps you could employ a system like Quake 4/Doom 3 where the AI will follow the player position with their heads/eyes. It was damned creepy to NoClip and watch them all stare at you.

Plus, this would enable the robots to look up and smack you instead of staring straight ahead and smacking a wall while still hitting you.

Robots still sometimes get funkyfeet when they go down stairs or walk over fallen robots.

Posting here what I posted in the other thread.

Weird issue.

I got a very weird error when just starting it up...I'm using Firefox 3.6 and basically most of the screen is obscured by this black thing, except for a small slit on the top half of the screen. It rapidly disappears and reappears when I run. I couldn't take a screenshot because I was using Firefox 3.6 and it stopped when I tried to exit to run fraps.

Okay, same problem with Firefox 3.5, but it seems to only appear at any setting above simple. Posting a screenshot shortly.

Screenshot.

I also have performance issues. Sometimes I get 50 FPS, sometimes 20, it's weird.

It's unlit. Or in other words; There's no lights active in the scene, thus making all the faces 100% selfilluminated.

But somehow the weapon is still lit.

Well i did in fact. I played it with lowest possible settings (which gave me a bit short of 60 fps) — but i still felt sick after a while. I am curious myself since this is the first time that has happend to me, ever. Since i play all those X360 shooters with their 30 fps with no side effects, i don't think it's the framerate.
