I'll probably pick this up if it gets good enough reception by reviewers and gamers and it seems to support the PC well so that's always a plus. :)

Gorgeous.

I wonder how much of these "new technologies" work on my ATI lol

Stupid partisan programming...

A old ATI programmer called Humus is working on the engine and he said the best version is the PC version (exclusive graphical features, better visuals) and that him self will play it on is ATI HD 5870, so you can aspect it to run well on ATI, but Nvidia was able to make two effects that are green only because of being CUDA coded.

I don't think you will be disappointed by the graphics on ATI cards. I will play it on my HD 5870 myself. For the bokeh effect we have a similar effect when this feature is not enabled that will look quite good too, but is a lot faster.

Actually I was not at Avalanche when the first Just Cause game was made. I only joined in 2007. As for making JC2 better for the PC, well, I love the PC and have never owned a console, so I have put a lot of effort into making it good on the PC. I wrote most of the DX10 render backend and did many PC specific features and optimizations.

The PC version will look better than the consoles and have more features.

I will buy it just because of this.

Great, I liked the first one on PC, so this should be excellent!

Your puns are on-par with those of Kotaku's... So yes.

Edit: Hey look, puns AND demos.

Downloading right now.

And Astalano, didn't it take more than a few words about fancy graphics to convince you? I'm disappointed. :P

Shush, it caught my attention! :D

Btw, demo is awesome, but the game has a pretty brutal learning curve. I'm not talking health-wise, but keeping the pace going is tough and the demo has a time limit. :S

They maybe have put a time limit on the demo because of the large gaming world, even on the demo you could spend a lot of time doing crazy stuff like jumping from mountains and buildings this is to say having fun, and they want you to pay for that. :P

After playing the demo, I must say it didn't really catch my attention that well.

It's pretty much like playing the first game, just with fancier graphics.

I'm still downloading it, but the denizens of RPS didn't seem impressed much either.

So I played the demo, and it kind of scared me off a bit. It reminded me that I am sick and tired of open world scavenger hunt games, basically.

I can't say that I didn't enjoy it, per se. It's just that... when I started doing stuff around a small town and a % complete sign showed up, I sighed. Then they had the video at the end that showed just how ginormous the world was, and I thought about how many times I was going to do the star & crate scavenger hunt, I sighed again. Do I think it is a bad game? No, not at all. I am just personally burnt out on the whole "open world with a shitload of collectibles" idea.

I just like open worlds where I can blow shit up and keep the action flowing and Just Cause 2 delivers, so I'm happy. :)

Reminds me, I thought that there was going to be more destruction in the world, than there was. It seem to revolve a lot around the "chaos meter", but I found myself unable to cause that much chaos. There was a few generators and radio towers here and there with that fancy logo on it, but apart from that there wasn't much else.

I also found it to be quite confusing, 100 people shooting at me from all kinds of angles and heights, and I was just grapple-hooking through all of it while shooting.

Yeah, Red Faction Guerrilla's destruction is desperately needed in all open world games now. :(

In the demo, I stumbled upon a military base and made a good deal of stuff blow up. Those little towns though I would have to agree with you. You do one little thing and 80 billion people are fighting you instantly.
