apart from the spam bots we dont really have much need for mods (which just shows how awesome we all are !) Anyway, hope you guys get it sorted soon!

I just dag through 20 pages of bot posts just to get here, If it continues as now waiting till the next week will be very taxing on the system.

I honestly don't think mods alone can do much about the spambots, as they create new accounts and post their shit in 10 minutes maximum. To prevent them from doing so, the mod would have to refresh the page every 2-4 minutes to detect the spam as it is happening. Otherwise he would have to delete like 20++ posts afterwards, while a new bot is likely to post his new shit meanwhile.

I agree withe Kendzi and forgefire we need a way to stop Bots from creating accounts (captcha). And if all current bot accounts are deleted we won't need mods anymore.

If mods could directly (signal to) delete bot accounts and all their messages, it would still help. To the more technical-minded guys, would it be possible to create a spam-detector? For example, any user whose first message contain the word 'golf', or an url adress (frontliners and spearheads excepted, any bot paying for it should be welcome)

Some of us dedicated members could be made moderators! I call the first open position! Lol.

Wow, this is sad. Bots are posting in forums already created by bots past. I miss the ones that just created one thread and then left us alone :(

The sad part is that the spam bots don't actually try to sell you anything. There aren't any links to a store or anything, its just a few words about some sort of product.

This appears to be the one safe haven....they've completely engulfed the rest...I don't know how long we'll be able to last here, our supplies are running low and I can hear their screams of clothing and golf supplies growing closer...we must tread lightly.

We should stock up on golf tees to ram in their stupid mechanic bot-heads!
