Picture of the Week 0045

Everybody that's been following the Open Door Development of Deadlock, knows that we're taking "this" to a whole new level and although we've shown a bit of level design using the modules we created during Running Man; This image shows how we've envisioned the training modules to look like in their next iteration, illustrated beautifully by our very own Master ScribbleHEAD! :)

For some reason I'm REALLY digging the orange. :)

yeah that color fits in very well with the more "greyish" look :)

Gives it a nice feel, most military bases seem to have limited color (least in the future i have noticed from aliens/STT/ and MechWarrior)

this at least breaks it up a bit and thats good to know, gives it a new vibe over the other styles, also makes it easier to set distances if the enemy is running towards you (seems the orange markers are about what 5 ft or so from each post?)

looking forward to next update

I can tell there will be lots of vantage points for us. And probably lots of close-quarters combat.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I can just picture intense close quarters gufights and frantic melee.

And a thought just hit me. Having a boost option, so you and your teamates can reach places you normally can't reach. And once you've reached the top, you can then pull them up. My opinion is, this would be a nice little touch to teamplay.

Imagine this, you and two other players rush around a corner to find a dead end, only way to escape is up, but too high to reach without help. Your first teammate boost's the second one up, then it's your turn. Once you've reached the top, you go flat on your belly to the edge and stretch your arms downwards to the player on the ground, he jumps, catches your hands, and amid much grunting and strained breathing you start hauling him up. At that moment the enemy players appear, the second player then starts providing covering fire, until you've finnished hauling up your comrade, and with a few loving farewell shots, your team escapes.

Thanks for all the warm comments, we've been working really hard at getting to a result that looks and feels realistic, yet still touches on the inspiration that Kim noted.

Hopefully the interior design will get just as warm a welcome as this has had :), makes me a happy camper indeed!

@Antonio

nice idea, that way it is better to team up than going solo.

you could also be an A-Hole and just leave them after you've got the buddy boost.
that would just be cruel. and play solo.
so it's a win win situation. and a good use of Co-op/team-play

Looks kinda Red Faction-esque. It kinda makes me wanna drive a truck right through it.
