Log Entry 012: New Office, bright future!
published Friday, 1 Oct. 2010, 00:00 by Kenneth
It has been a while since we have shared our progress with you, so here is a small update from us.

Running Man - our latest release on interstellarmarines.com
Fundraising
We are still in a fundraising phase, and we are pursuing some very promising investor leads. The future looks bright for us, but it just takes some time to raise enough funding for the next project. Fundraising is probably not the most exciting phase for you guys, as updates on interstellarmarines.com from our side is very limited, but bear with us, it's not a matter of if we will deliver new cool stuff for you - it's just a matter of when.
In the meantime we encourage you to continue to play Bullseye and Running Man, check out the occasional new videos on our YouTube channel and hang around in the forum and chat with us and the rest of the community. You are of course also more than welcome to follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
ZPSHicks at our new office, obviously working hard ;-)
New Office
We have just moved office from Nørrebro in Copenhagen to the old meat district of Copenhagen, "Kødbyen" (Meat-town), in an office hotel called SOHO. Unfortunately this meant that we missed this weeks "Question of The Week", but will return next week with more intriguing questions for you. For those of you who don't know what "Question of the Week" is about, then check out this forum thread, and check our our forum every wednesday.
The current team
Co-founder Nicolai has returned after a small break as CEO, so we are now four guys working hard to get to the next phase of Interstellar Marines:
Nicolai (Reese, CEO), Mikael (heks, Lead Programmer), Kenneth (Kenneth, Lead Sound Designer) and Kim (ZPSHicks, Game Director).
A view of how many registered users we have gained since the 1st of July.
Numbers
As promised we will give you a regular update on numbers - we haven't had a big boost in users since the last newsletter, but we still have a solid progress. We now have 49.922 registered users, 835 Spearheads and 79 Frontliners. The total sum of Support Medals is 1358.
Other news
- Unity 3.0 has been officially released, and we love it - we look forward to release new stuff with deferred renderer, beast lightmapping, occlusion culling, new audio features, and more. Thumbs up to Unity from us!!!
- Machinima made a cool YouTube interview with ZPSHicks recently.
- We have updated our IndieDB and ModDB profile - thanks to Argoon and other community members for poking us. :-)
FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME,
The team at Zero Point Software

Good to see a steady growth in registered users numbers, my guess is that as soon as coop or multi-player content is added the numbers will sky rock. Keep up the good work guys.

Would love to read about how you are doing the Unity3 conversion (if any) :)

Are you guys planning to update the existing assets to be Unity 3.x?
For instance, I think Running Man & Bullseye would both get a nice performance boost. Furthermore, I think the Vault needs some love as the Kokoro CTRs are NOT in there yet :P

Thanks for the update :) I hope your new office is big enough, and that finding investors isn't too difficult. :)

I agree with FirstDagger, the steady growth is promising and wonderful to see. But the numbers will absolutely fly through the roof when multiplayer and coop are released.
Keep on rockin guys!

The concept of an "Office Hotel" sounds crazy... how does that work? Do you live in your office now? It looks cool from the pictures on their page though.

Thank you for this update folks. Fundraising is certainly not the most exciting part of development but it's definitely one of the most important ones so thumbs up from me. I want this team to success :-)

Good to hear from you guys again. The Unity 3.0 looks really promising and I hope that EA will bring some good spirit to the partnership with Unity and maybe that you will benefit from it. Keep working hard like that!

I don't see any 3D Artists on the team! You know where to find me though, haha. ;)

As long as you are making progress!
Congrats on the machinimia interview but have you tried releaseing some info on Rock, Paper, Shotgun?

@vodny_cz: EA is Unity's customer/user, that's all - very much like ZPS is. :) But it's certainly very flattering for Unity that such a big company with so many engines to pick from (even in-house) has decided to pick Unity.

Oh, will we get a tour of the new offices? Even if it's just pictures?

I am very excited to see what you guys have pulled of and squeezed out of Unity so far. I think with Unity3D 3 it will really improve the game even more coming to speed, audio and graphics. With the all the work you already have pulled of I think funding won't take long.

I had many worries for this game.
As on the first day (when it was first announced), I have been impressed by the scale this COULD have.
And you have a shot Danes, GIVE IT YOUR BEST :D
I skal også passe på at man ikke kommer til at føle det som om, at man spiller i en kasse... Man skal kunne "føle" spillet ^^
Ps. Don't screw this up! ;P

All people deserve wealthy life and <a href="http://bestfinance-blog.com/topics/personal-

Believe me, a multiplayer game will attract many fans and users for this dream, and with it the investments will increase. All for the love of the game.
