Game Update 5

published Friday, 11 Oct. 2013, 00:00 by ZPSPhyrefli

This update introduces a slew of features including the first version of Martin Jonsson's competition winning map, "join on a friend" in Steam and new weapons effects.

In this update we have many great new features, with top of the list being the first iteration of Martin Jonsson's stunning competition-winning map. Martin's map is in the playground area, so please take a few minutes to check it out.

Other new items include a major update to the popular Evacuation map, tap/hold key functionality for running, aiming, flashlights and targeting lasers, separate sensitivity sliders for zoom and hip fire as well as work-in-progress concept images from Louie Ishii for our Spearhead members.

It's been incredibly hectic here at ZPS as we complete building up the team and continue development of Interstellar Marines. There will be many more updates from now on and we can’t wait to share the incredible new stuff with you that is on the way. Thank you, our awesome community, for all your support!

Update looks great

BTW: I bought the spearhead edition on Steam THROUGH steam, not this website, and my Support medal doesn't show on my profile.

It's starting to build momentum with the updates. Starting to feel like a real game now. I really can't wait for the implementation of skill trees to give our characters a unique feel to them as well as the coop campaign.

Until then lets see if there's any surprises to be had on this next update at the end of the month. ;)

The Hud looks like its going to be Amazing. and PLEASE keep it where it goes up with the Helmet, In reality, you wouldn't have a hud if you didn't have anything for it to show on. You guys are really doing good. Can't wait for crouch , prone, knife and other important features. Mostly crouch and prone.

Man you guys need to see what is on the spearheads only folder, the character modeling is very good it seems they have various iterations of the combat suit and helmet on the oven.

Fantastic work guys.

Been following this since I first came across the website quite awhile ago, loved the concept and stuck around, became almost religious about checking for updates and other stuff on the forum, finally I just bought the spearhead edition on steam since you guys deserve the support to make an amazing game.

GREAT!

at first: the map is ok but nothing awesome (if you put landsharks in there it would be a Cat-mouse game and I think this would be pretty cool)

Shakes: makes it more realistic and is why I love you so much (realistic)

and last: the changes to evacuation are awesome.

Ideas:
-Add new game-modes such as Survival against shark creatures with friends
-Add leaning after jumping and crouching is added
-Make the concept helmet HUD into reality, please!
-Add a sidearm
-Add Ammo pickup from dead players
-Fix lighting: Sunlight goes through helmet
-Different Models for Each team
-Add a radar to HUD
-Add Community Workshop for people to create models to give you guys ideas; Ex. Team Fortress 2
- Add Hit markers
- Add the need to wear helmet to prevent from inhaling gases or to not suffocate in space
- Add need to wipe your helmet from blood or rain; Easter Egg: Windshield Wipers on helmets
- Add bigger Maps for availability of snipers
- Create DLC with maps on earth
- Add camos, sights, and weapons for a unique custimization

@ Barbarius: Hitmarkers totally ruin the immersion and the whole point of the game is to have you on your toes plus they have a better hitmarker already cause when you shoot them they scream

I love Barbarious's ideas, well, maybe not the hitmarkers. Anyway, keep up the awesome work! Also, could you guys add some sort of cloaking? Cloaking is always cool.

Is the "Spearhead" Art Section available to me?

I backed this game YEARS ago, back when "backing" wasn't even a word. I have already forgotten how much money I donated, but then it was for a "trilogy of singleplayer games" on strange alien worlds.

The development on this game seems reeeaally slow.

I just enlisted myself to support you and threw some money to the arena. The whole idea is great, the game looks superb, but I hope you're not going to focus primarily on multiplayer. Multiplayer should be something what is really like 'I finished the great story, I want more'. System Shock 2, Half-Life those two games I'd love to see in that. If you'll continue to bring single-player (coop) campaign experience I'll convince lot of people to support you. Our community already kicked about 25000 Euros into Wasteland 2 project and we're always happy to support exceptional projects.

I would like to have voice chat. Maybe have it to where when your helmet is on, it acts as a radio where your entire team can hear you and nobody else, and with the helmet up, it could be used as a proximity mic, where anyone can hear you within a certain distance. I dont know, just something Ithought of :/
