ooh - New stuff!
I have read a lot of comments saying that the new photo session is nothing to what we have seen in the teaser trailer from 2005. It's the same just nicer graphics. I love this way of paying homage to the old teaser, to see the parallels and to see the differences – the development of it.
…on a related note – I’m loving these small inside looks into your world! Keep ‘em coming :)

The landshark is pretty awesome and very scary. Are all the enemies going to have these animalistic traits or will we see regular soldier enemies as well?

Wow, if the game you're developing lives up to the image you have planted in my head (walking down steel corridors in complete silence, following by a shark charging at me with its eyes white'd out), you've got a classic on your hands! The next AvP!

@ Simon002
Realism is surely relative in a game featuring Land Sharks (not intending to be negative, it's kind of cool actually)... or really any Sci-Fi elements. Still it would be great for this game to heavily encourage preparation, cooperation and teamwork, and the use of any of a plethora of tactics (instead of just one well proven one).
I know a lot of the people I play games with are looking for a FPS that challenges the player not in terms of reflexes or the ability to snap off head shots like some trendy 'cartoon for teens' character (though I guess that is a very useful skill), but in their ability to plan out their actions according to the environment and adapt as that same environment reacts to them. Understandably there aren't very many games that fit this description, and even fewer of them are multi-player.
But I'm just ranting on what my ideal game would be I guess, I'm very interested to see more of what this one is planned to be.

Has anyone logged on to Call of Duty and left a message in the game to other gamers giving your web address out? just an idea to get it out there? similarly you can do this on other games.
Just a thought cause this is good but needs more people to see it
Keep it coming

I think the more you show an honest picture of what you guys are about, the more you will win peoples hearts and minds and wallets :) Keep up the pace, keep evolving the community and keep it exiting and you will get there in the end.

I really enjoy these kinds of videos where developers talks about their projects.
It makes us; The community, feel more in touch with the team and therefore we'd usually remember the game for more than it is.
Really good job guys. Oh, and the funny thing is; you can really hear that you're from Denmark. We got that awesome accent. :D
Also, to be a bit more constructive about the content showed in the video. I'd say use some more frames on the Titan Walker's animations. It snaps way to quick into position and it turns a tad quickly too for such a huge robot. ;)
Other than that, I can say that you has done a very great job. Better than the most actually, and that you keep yourself in touch with the community is something unlike any others has done before. (Except VALVe)
Good job people!
FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME !

Very well done video, very interesting, i like the concept of bringing natural enemies back into games, and combining it with science, i mean to be honest i'm kind of sick of shooting zombies, monsters, mutants and people, animal foe's etc seems like a good way to go and it spices things up a bit. Keep up the good work, i'll keep my eye on this game.

If you knew the kind of people that's behind the game (and how many years, they never ever gave up on it) - you can pretty much trust you're a part of something big.
Personally I would have joined earlier - if I knew about it ;)

@ Stiffler:
I wholeheartedly agree. Especially since we live in a world that can already grow human ears on the backs of rats, create glow in the dark dogs, and people cautiously optimistic that they will be able to genetically re-engineer a psuedo-dinosaur before their lives are over. Sharks with legs + lungs is 100% feasible in 100 years in my eyes.
Just please, ZPS.... please no super soldier lab where you have to fight the failed experiment buff zombie men. Its way overdone.

Doesn't the Titan Walker look like the ED-209 from Robo Cop.

ZPSHicks:

@ Undead_Fanatic
The Titan Walker is indeed inspired by the ED-209 from RoboCop. Ever since RoboCop show us this cool concept we have been in love with the ED-209. A few games have tried to get the concept right Deus Ex and FEAR etc., but we really feel that they have always been slow and not very exciting.
So the Titan Walker is our attempt in creating a sentry robot that is fast, agile and relentless in hunting you and your team down. :)
And with the right skills, players will even be able to control this bastard by giving it "rules of engagement" commands. :)
More on this as we go into more details on the specific characters in our "The Game" section.
For the love of the game,
ZPSHicks

Looks like you guys are doing a good job at making the titan walker then.
cheeriokilla:

I enlisted as a Spearhead because I had read that the community and Zero Point were developing it together, but I see no kind of participation from the people, what about gameplay mechanics, what about character opinions? what if you did a poll on some idea you have?
You sure need to develop on this, I really trust you guys and hope this turns out as well as we all dream of. Good Luck and you have my support!
Ghost1800:

They kind of need to get the licensing stuff taken care of before they can show us anything. After that I was under the impression that they would be doing all of those things.
forgefire:
2 years, 8 months ago
To be fair i havent read one single place anything about direct participation from spearheads or anyone else who signed up.
What we do get is (hopefully) 3 games plus a first hand look at the development of the game.
However i am sure the team will welcome any input we got once we get our hands on a playable demo/alpha/beta/whatever... just think of all the money they will be saving in the QA department ;)

Can't wait to see gameplay footage...I understand the whole licensing issue,i hope it gets dealt with swiftly. As for the titan walker very cool.I also love the fact that you need to disable it and hack it to use it, as oppose to just starting with it as part of your arsenal.Other ways to use this would be...e.g. After disabling the walker you can attach a small remote camera, so when guards or technicians come arround to reactivate it and the walker resumes it's patrol, the squad leader can use the camera to see in areas he can't see or spot guards,or maybe boobytrap the walker with explosives or emp,so that if the walker enters a target rich environment...well you get the idea. It's all about choice the more options are given to the player the better. Some players will want to use the walkers fire power and some might want to use it in a manner that is more stealthy.

If it wasn't for the massive community involvement. Really...I think this would just be another game sitting on everyone's "Listen, Wait, and See" list. I love the active stance ZPS is taking and trying to keep the community as involved as possible even with the issue of licensing. Hopefully, as we can garner a larger community and get more devotee's to drop some bills, we can help them attain their goal of paying off their licensing fee's and we can really start to shine as a Developer/Community relationship should.
Overall though, I am highly stoked for this project, and I have nothing but support and good wishes for ZPS. The Photo Shoot trailer was kind of the "selling point" for me. I saw the original trailer several years ago, but I was slightly skeptical. To see the game still turning heads and having been improved upon so much speaks very highly of ZPS' dedication to this project. Add to that, we are building a wonderfully supportive and positive minded community around this project and that makes me feel proud to be a member of it.
I see a bright future ahead for ZPS and us "The Community". And I have a lot of hope for Interstellar Marines.
And now I feel all preachy. xP

This is one thing I'm really hoping for that you guys at zero point consider:
Boarding actions during an intense naval/spaceship engagement- how ffreakin awesome would that be?
Getz2oo3:
2 years, 7 months ago
@njeon
Oh hell yah. Ship-to-Ship boarding maneuvers would be frickin sweet!!!!!
njeon:
2 years, 7 months ago
I also wouldn't mind seeing a scene in which you and your team have to find an escape pod in order to abandon a disabled ship in planet-fall cause that would be intense.
njeon:
2 years, 7 months ago
And then after you and your guys land on the ground in the escape pod, (randomized of course) you try to escape into friendly territory or a L.Z. for extraction.
